Snapshot Sunday #21

Well, for the Sooners, the football season ended a couple of nights ago.  Unfortunately, it ended pretty badly, so Brian will probably be more depressed than usual during the off-season.  We’ve got a national championship to get through, and then professional post-season, then we’ll be football free until the spring game.  That’s always a much longer span of time for Brian than it is for me.

But enough football talk, let’s get down to the pictures.  Wrapping up December and moving on into January.

30. Something That Made You Smile This Year

Prompt:  Something that made you smile this year.  Brian gave me a bird feeder for our anniversary this year because I like to take pictures of birds in our yard.  I recently uploaded over 800 photos to my online album (not even half of what I’ve taken!), which should give you an idea of how much fun I’ve been having with it.  Lots of smiles there.

31. Self Portrait

Prompt:  Self portrait.  Bundled up for our final outing of the year, though it was nothing particularly exciting.  Groceries and dinner out.  Still, it was the first solid meal I’d had in a few days, so it was nice.

1. Today

Prompt:  Today.  The traditional new year’s day meal around these parts is ham and black eyed peas; it’s supposed to bring good luck during the year.  Brian always says, “It didn’t work”; I say, “Imagine how much worse things could’ve been.”

2. Something New

Prompt:  Something new.  One of the best Christmas presents of the year, my new compact camera.

3. Heart

Prompt:  Heart.  The cake topper from our wedding day.

4. The View From Here

Prompt:  The view from here.  One of the trees next to the feeder; we’ve had a lot of cardinals this winter.

5. Movement

Prompt:  Movement.  Dancing with Michael Jackson on the Wii is a lot of movement, as my heart rate monitor shows.  Not graceful movement, you understand, but movement just the same.

And that’s a wrap for this week.  If you want to play along, check out the prompts from Chantelle over at Fat Mum Slim.  I think you’ll have fun.

And now we move into the first full week of the new year.  If you’re heading back to work or school, or just finally getting into the whole swing of things, make it a good one.
